Below is a PDF document containing the final version of the schedule. Please take a moment to look through the schedule, as there have been a number of changes. This version of the schedule also includes extra information concerning special dinners that will not appear on the official schedule as well as annotations (highlighted in yellow) that are especially geared for the presenters. For more detailed information regarding transportation to/from the airport and between the hotel and conference center, see items 2 and 3 below.
Please bring your airline reservation receipt with you. Ground transportation reimbursements should not be necessary unless there is an emergency as your transportation to and from the airport and conference center will be pre-arranged. Meals on Friday and Monday evening will be reimbursed.
You will be transported from and to the airport via the Super Shuttle. Reservations will be made in advance by us on your behalf; no payment on your part will be necessary. The Super Shuttle counter is located in the Ground Transportation Atrium of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. In order to reach the Super Shuttle Desk you must take the escalator/elevator down one level from the baggage claim and follow the signs to the escalator/elevator that goes up to SCHEDULED BUSES/VANS. (Essentially, you are walking under the street to get from one side to the other, because you cannot walk across at street level.) You should expect to wait no more than 20 minutes once you have checked-in at the Super Shuttle Desk. Because it is a shared ride service, Super Shuttle cannot guarantee that a shuttle will be waiting when you check-in. Attached is a map of the Lindbergh Terminal with relevant locations highlighted in yellow. If you are coming from the Humphrey Terminal, take the light rail to the Lindbergh Terminal, go up two levels to the TRAM level and take the Hub Tram to the Ground Transportation Atrium.
Unless I receive notice otherwise, all airport pick-ups and drop-offs will be from the Radisson University Hotel. If you plan to depart for the airport directly from the conference center rather than returning to the Radisson to gather your belongings, please notify me as soon as possible, so that the Super Shuttle pick-up location can be changed accordingly. For your departure, the Super Shuttle will pick-up within 15 minutes of the requested time. It can take as little as 20 minutes to get from the University to the airport, but during traffic or bad weather it can take 60 minutes.
Transportation to and from the conference center will be provided by the Radisson shuttle service. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday there will be a reserved shuttle that will depart from the hotel in the morning and return in the evening. If you need to return to the hotel during the day you can call the Radisson for shuttle service (612-379-8888) or take the Campus Connector, which runs every 30 minutes on the weekends and every 5 minutes on weekdays from the corner of Buford and Gortner Avenues. For detailed information and maps go to: http://www1.umn.edu/pts/shuttle.htm
When you arrive at the Radisson for check-in, you will be asked whether or not to turn on incidentals. If you wish to turn on the incidentals (mini-bar, room service, etc.), you will need to provide a credit card for payment.
Check in for the conference itself will be available on Saturday morning in the lobby of the Radisson from 10:00-11:00am. You also have the option of checking-in once you have arrived at the conference center.
Finally, we would like to mention briefly at this juncture that the organizers will be presenting to you our plans for publication of papers from the conference during the meal on Sunday evening. We look forward to discussing this aspect of the project with you at that point.
There are no formal plans for Friday evening. However, for those of you who are interested, Ra’anan will be in the Radisson lobby at 7:00pm to walk to a restaurant near the hotel. If you would like to join him you are certainly welcome to do so. This is not an official conference dinner and you will not miss any vital information if you cannot or choose not to attend.
